The War on Drugs have been covering the Grateful Dead’s “Touch of Grey” for a few years now, but recently the Philadelphia crew slipped another classic song into their repotoire: John Lennon’s “Mind Games.” NYCTaper.com recently recorded the band’s set at New York’s Bowery Ballroom, where they performed a sublime, six minute version of the title track from the Beatles boss’ 1973 album. If you love the War on Drugs and some rather sick guitar noodling, this one’s for you. The band are currently on tour supporting their recently released third album, Lost in the Dream, which SPIN marked as Essential and described as “gorgeous, wide-open claustaphobia.”
