Hear Hercules and Love Affair Get Rough on ‘Do You Feel the Same’

Hercules and Love Affair 'Do You Feel the Same' Stream 'Feast of the Broken Heart' album cover

It’s been over three years since Andy Butler’s musical project Hercules and Love Affair released an album, but now they’re finally back with a follow-up to Blue Songs. The rotating-member group will unveil The Feast of the Broken Heart this spring, and the first listen to the album comes courtesy of the track “Do You Feel the Same?” It’s a peppy dance number over a fairly minimal beat, adorned by the wailing vocals of Belgian singer Gustaph. “I wanted nasty basslines, stormy, bleary-eyed sounds, fiery, rough, tough and ragged old school house productions that sounded almost techno,” Butler said in a statement about the album. “I didn’t want polite, I wanted aggressive.” John Grant, Rouge Mary, and Krystle Warren also contributed vocals to the LP, which was produced by Ha-Ze Factory and Mark Pistel. Take a listen to “Do You Feel the Same?” below and get The Feast of the Broken Heart on May 26 courtesy of Moshi Moshi.
