Black Flag Announce ‘Victimology’ Tour With Mike Vallely on Vocals

Black Flag Tour Victimology Mike Vallelly

The current messy, litigious Black Flag iteration refuses to die. After firing vocalist Ron Reyes during a show, replacing him with manager and skateboarder Mike Vallely — and then losing bassist Dave Klein — the legendary punk outfit will hit the road for a lengthy tour this spring and summer dubbed Victimology. The band’s current leader Greg Ginn, who allegedly threatened Reyes’ family, will also serve as an opening act with his “electronic, psychedelic, instrumental band” HOR, alongside Brooklyn punk duo Cinema Cinema.

In a press release, Ginn said that Vallely, who previously sang with the group during a string of benefit gigs in 2003, “is the perfect frontman to capture what Black Flag was, is and will be.”

Vallely, who also serves as the group’s manager, said, “I’m excited about performing songs from the entire Black Flag catalog. I feel confident in my ability to communicate the songs — To give them their due respect and yet still make them my own. Ginn’s songwriting is truly timeless and it gives all of the material relevance right here, right now.”
