Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks Cast Puppet in Oddball ‘Little Fang’ Video

A few weeks back, Animal Collective co-leader Avey Tare announced the debut album from his new supergroup, Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks. Word of the upcoming set (which is titled Enter the Slasher House and due out April 8) came with lead single “Little Fang,” a watery disco tune that surprisingly skewed, rather than skewered, pop. Now, Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks have shared a music video for “Little Fang” that finds a compromise between the single’s inviting groove and the band’s off-kilter name. The mostly black-and-white clip stars an adorable cat puppet — made by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop — that drives a car (shout-out to Toonces!), visits a warped carnival, and finds itself surrounded by sharp-toothed specters. Abby Portner, sister to Avey Tare a.k.a. Dave Portner, directed the video, which can be seen above.
