If you don’t know your Spanish, “Duro Como Piedra” translates roughly to “Hard as a Rock.” That should clue you into the themes of this new video from AJ Davila. The lead man from Puerto Rico’s shack-shaking Davila 666 has a real knack for wonderfully sleazy-sounding shout-along shredders (“Animal,” to wit) and this Terror/Amor standout gets an appropriately wild visual to go with. Seen above, the clip features a whole lot of writhing, near-nudity, lizard tongues, freaky masks, and prismatic effects. In other words, it’s a far milder side of the Davila family, who threw a bloody orgy for their “Tu” video a few years back. AJ’s solo debut,Terror/Amor, is out now on Nacional Records.
