Kanye West Gently Tells Sway, Charlamagne Tha God: ‘Shut the Eff Up’

kanye west, yeezus, rant

Kanye West swore that it’d be at least another six months until we would hear him “rant” again. Call us cynics, but we were skeptical, and with good reason: Noisey points to footage of a brand new, ahem, impassioned speech from Mr. West, delivered during his February 13 Yeezus gig in Pennsylvania. The target of ‘Ye’s wrath this time? Radio personalities Charlamagne Tha God and Sway, both of whom got into heated exchanges with West when they had him on their respective shows.

“If I go to a radio interview, shut the fuck up!” Kanye screams into the microphone, after cutting a rendition of 2005’s “Touch the Sky” short. The man behind SPIN’s 2013 Album of the Year then reminded the crowd that it’s been 10 years since his landmark debut, The College Dropout, so he feels he’s earned some bragging rights. “Everybody who be writing all that shit, to fucking diss me, and talk shit,” he says to the audience, “what the fuck did you do? What have you done with the past 10 years of your motherfucking life, Charlamagne? Sway?”

‘Ye also makes it a point to use his indoor voice at one point (“They’re going to say I’m screaming, so let me say it in a very nice, calm voice so that you know I’m not upset,” he says), name-drops Shakespeare and Beethoven, leads the audience through a brief a cappella version of Graduation highlight “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” and then proudly declares “I am Yeezus!” Watch it above, then check out his typically bombastic marriage proposal to Kim Kardashian.
