Watch Jerome LOL Clear History in Crowd-Sourced ‘Deleted’ Video

Back in November, Los Angeles beatsmith Jerome LOL dropped “Always,” a shuffling collaboration with singer Sara Z that appears on Jerome’s Deleted/Fool EP. Now, the full four-track effort is out via Bandcamp, and the Body High label head has paired it with a bit of fan service. As Fader points out, the man known IRL as Jerome Potter has shared a music video for the EP’s semi-title track, the (once again) Sara Z-assisted “Deleted.” The visual acts as a spiritual sequel to the much beloved visual for “Changes,” from Jerome’s former outfit LOL Boys.

Just as “Changes” cobbled together snippets of Mac users filming themselves with Photo Booth, “Deleted” compiles crowd-sourced, meme-fluent footage. (Note the cameo by Drake’s Nothing Was the Same mug.) But what could easily be written off as an empty hodgepodge of clips takes on extra heft when paired with Sara Z’s robo-addled vocals. “Control, Escape, Command” has never sounded as vital as it does in the video above.
