Drink Yourself Clean With James Murphy’s New Coffee Blend

James Murphy has developed his own coffee, somehow finding time between making the New York City subway system sing, organizing a new LCD Soundsystem live album, and building an actual soundsystem. Brooklyn Vegan reports that the “All My Friends” singer has teamed with craft coffee company Blue Bottle to brew a new blend that is now available for purchase. Dubbed “House of Good,” the fresh espresso is “supremely balanced,” according to Blue Bottle.

“Its flavor profile — dried cherry, cocoa, meyer lemon — is a harmony between the voluptuous and the austere,” the description reads. “It’s akin to the second movement of Carl Nielsen’s Symphony No. 3 — or, perhaps, to that buzzing, syncopated synth line from ‘Dance Yrself Clean.'”

“House of Good” shares its name with a café and retail space that Murphy plans to open in Brooklyn. If he gets his way, the store will sell “cheap Chinese sneakers, whimsical socks, candy from Denmark,” and customized luggage designed by Murphy himself, the New York Times reports. The “House of Good” coffee will also be sold at the forthcoming shop, but for now, grab a one-pound bag of the “syrupy, well-balanced, and thoroughly accessible” espresso for $26 through the Blue Bottle website or the company’s storefront in Brooklyn’s Boerum Hill neighborhood.
