Stream Creepoid’s Spacey Self-Titled LP

Creepoid

While Philadelphia’s Creepoid features members of their hometown’s contentious noise-punk trio Fight Amp, this band is a decidedly mellower project for the transplants. On their second full-length effort, a self-titled LP due March 4 via No Idea Records, the band foregoes battering dissonance in exchange for cosmic soundscapes and soul crushing inquiries. (“Sunday” has members pleading to “bleed for you now.”)

Produced by Kyle Slick Johnson (WAVVES, Modest Mouse), the album is a comprehensive romp through the hazy, substance-addled rock movement of the ’90s, making pit stops at inspired indie landmarks: Bending guitar leads are reminiscent of Slowdive, brooding tempos hat-tip the recently reunited Failure, and Billy Corgan-influenced nasal croons are practically a staple of the record.
