Watch Ms. Lauryn Hill Rip Through 1998’s ‘Final Hour’ Live
Rap cut from 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' is turned into live, furious funk
Ms. Lauryn Hill has shared another visual highlight from her first post-prison show at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom on November 27 and it’s just as striking as the last clip. In December, fans were treated to an 11-plus-minute dubbed-out performance of “Ex-Factor,” the second single from her 1998 landmark record, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Now we get the deeper album cut, “Final Hour,” which finds her once again at the helm of her incredibly in-the-pocket band, but this time rapping rapidly over a heavy funk groove. The “working hard” refrain at the end seems particularly apropos considering this band’s hustle. For upcoming dates, visit the Ms. Lauryn Hill site.
