Watch the Lawrence Arms Go Juggalo in ‘Seventeener (17th and 37th)’ Video

On January 28, the Lawrence Arms will return with Metropole, the Chicago-born trio’s sixth album and first full-length since 2006’s Oh! Calcutta! According to singer-bassist Brendan Kelly, the follow-up to 2009’s Buttsweat and Tears EP captures “that alone-in-a-crowd, stranger-in-a-strange-land kind of shit — a feeling of such weird solitude that you don’t even know what’s up and what’s down ’cause you’re so caught in the wake of the city.”

The hook-slinging punks explore the lonesome, crowded West Coast in the music video for “Seventeener (17th and 37th),” a near-power ballad found on Metropole. Directed by Ben Pier, the clip drops the band in the middle of Los Angeles and sets them on a misguided quest for fame. See the Lawrence Arms cycle through a few different identities — going from Skid Row headbangers to clown-faced Juggalos — by watching the video above.

Pre-orders for Metropole are currently available through Epitaph Records, and the Lawrence Arms’ upcoming tour dates can be found below.
