Own Jay Z’s ‘Empire State of Mind’ Stash Spot for $870,000

Take a virtual tour of the apartment where Sean Carter cooked crack cocaine!

At last, a gift for the diehard Jay Z fan and/or crack-cocaine history aficionado who has it all: the very apartment where Sean Carter used to “cook.” For $870,000, you can own unit 10C at 560 State Street, New York City, New York, Hov’s Brooklyn “stash spot” identified by address in the smash hit “Empire State of Mind.” There’s an open house planned for February 2, from 1 to 3 p.m. if you’re in the area (and in the market). Better still, there’s a virtual tour set to stock piano music.

No really. Click on that last link and marvel in the experience of listening to those hopeful keys, dramatic synths, and chill drums while coasting through Jay’s old drug den like the ghost of crack-mas future. We’ll wait. Anyhow, the listing is up on real estate hub Zillow, and explains how the c. 1900 townhouses “were repurposed to create a unique enclave of 39 residences … accessed through a bucolic courtyard … thoughtfully designed and beautifully finished.”

And though Jay doesn’t specify the apartment number in song, and early reports by New York Magazine and others claimed it was 10B, the fact that he’d lived at 10C was revealed in October of 2012 when Hova was filming his Made in America documentary and crossed paths with then-resident Amit Wehle, who wrote about the experience for Fuse. Unsurprisingly, the listing doesn’t mention the Barclays-adjacent home’s mottled past. It was last sold in 2005 for $598,019.

Seriously, do that virtual tour, but also, here are some photos:
