Watch David Byrne Revive the Talking Heads’ ‘And She Was’ With Jherek Bischoff

Earlier this week, composer Jherek Bischoff played a pair of guest-heavy gigs at St. Ann’s Warehouse in Brooklyn. As Stereogum points out, the Seattle-based visionary shared the stage with several artists, including Zola Jesus, Sondre Lerche, Mirah, and his “Eyes” collaborator, David Byrne. Now, fan-shot footage of Bischoff and Byrne performing together has surfaced online. Above you’ll see Byrne lead a rendition of “Strange Overtones,” a future-funk team-up he recorded with Brian Eno back in 2008; and below you’ll find a slightly behind-schedule shout-out to Santa Claus (Byrne introduces the song with a way-behind-schedule jab at Karl Rove), followed by an orchestral-pop take on the Talking Heads’ Little Creatures classic “And She Was.” (Warning to anyone hoping to catch a glimpse of Bischoff: The camera stays focused on Byrne for all three clips.)
