Watch Aubrey Plaza Deadpan on Saxophone in Cassorla’s ‘Bona Fide’ Video

Ben Cassorla has served in touring bands for Washed Out, Slick Rick, and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, but on February 4, the guitarist will release Amigos, the debut EP from his surname-sporting project Cassorla. The six-track effort makes good on the Los Angeles songwriter’s resume: Amigos includes collaborations with members of Blitzen Trapper, Dawes, the Magnetic Zeros, and, most surprisingly, Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plaza.

The stone-faced actress/comedian plays saxophone on “Bona Fide,” a jaunty slice of yacht pop that first premiered on Stereogum. Now, Cassorla has shared the song’s official music video, a clip that features Plaza lip synching opposite performance artist Nick Cregor.

Here’s what Ben Cassorla had to say about the visual: “Filmed in New York on the Staten Island Ferry and in L.A. in a paddle boat on Echo Park Lake, director Louis Fried shot a love story about two people who push and pull from each other on screen, who don’t even know they’re in love.”
