Last week, SPIN celebrated the Year in Music with a sold-out, lights-out event at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg that brought together artists as disparate as our admittedly eclectic taste might suggest: nascent pop hurricane Charli XCX, recently rejuvenated indie-rock legends Superchunk, and Detroit’s proudest son, Danny Brown. Above and below, you’ll find footage of Superchunk performing “FOH” and “Me & You & Jackie Mittoo,” two singles from their brilliant and heartbreaking 2013 outing, I Hate Music, as well as a bonus interview clip with frontman (and Merge co-founder) Mac McCaughan that finds the North Carolina native both looking back on the best of 2013 and providing advice for an ample 2014.
