Owls Confirm Long-Awaited Second Album With Off-Kilter Teaser

owls, new album, teaser

In a recent conversation with SPIN, Tim Kinsella confirmed that Owls, one of the singer-songwriter’s many projects, would release a new album next spring. Now, as BrooklynVegan notes, Owls have dropped a teaser for their upcoming full-length. The clip clocks in at just under a minute and doesn’t share much in the way of details — no album title, track list, or specific release date. Right now, all that’s clear is that Owls have a second album on the way, and it’s due out through Polyvinyl, the same label that issued this summer’s Testimonium, a soundtrack to a performance-art piece that serves as the 15th studio album by Joan of Arc, Kinsella’s long-running post-rock group.

Owls formed in the early 2000s with a lineup that featured every original member from influential ’90s emo crew Cap’n Jazz. So far, the foursome have only put out one studio album, a self-titled effort that dropped way back in 2001.
