Morrissey’s ‘Your Arsenal’ Reissue Adds Unseen Live DVD

morrissey, your arsenal, reissue

Morrissey will unsheath Your Arsenal once again. Following reissues of 1989’s Viva Hate and 1991’s Kill Uncle, the former Smiths singer will re-release his third (and arguably finest) solo album on February 25. Dubbed the “definitive master” of 1992’s Your Arsenal, the touched-up edition is on the way in CD, digital, and heavyweight vinyl formats via Parlophone Records. The upcoming redux doesn’t come with any bonus songs or extras, but it does replace the original version of closing track “Tomorrow” with a new “U.S. mix.”

The CD release also comes packaged with a previously unreleased DVD that captures Moz’s October 31, 1991 concert at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in California. Surprisingly, the 18-song live set doesn’t overlap much with the career highlights included on Your Arsenal (“Certain People I Know,” “Glamorous Glue,” “The National Front Disco,” etc.). Instead, the DVD cobbles together some standouts from Viva Hate (“Everyday Is Like Sunday,” “Suedehead”) and a number of notable B-sides, singles, and rarities (“The Last of the Famous International Playboys,” “November Spawned a Monster,” and “Sister I’m a Poet,” to name a few). Scroll down for details on both the Your Arsenal reissue and accompanying DVD.

Morrissey also recently released his live cover of Lou Reed’s “Satellite of Love,” and the crooner’s much-discussed Autobiography just hit bookshelves in the U.S., albeit with fewer details on Moz’s two-year relationship with photographer Jake Owen Walters.
