Watch Coldplay’s Chris Martin Backup Lily Allen on ‘The Fear’

Lily Allen Chris Martin Coldplay Fear Live Video

Lily Allen made a big return in November with “Hard Out Here” and the accompanying clip, which doubled as a response video to Robin Thicke’s conversation-starting “Blurred Lines.” After stirring the pot and getting accused of accidental racism in the process, she made a much softer landing on Thursday, December 19, performing her 2009 It’s Not Me, It’s You single “The Fear” with Coldplay leader Chris Martin on backing vocals and guitar (above). The occasion was a London benefit for Kids Company dubbed “Under 1 Roof,” and it featured other artists as well. As Stereogum points out, we also get Allen performing Ella Fitzgerald’s “Dream a Little Dream of Me” with Robbie Williams, and Allen and Keane man Tim Rice-Oxley doing his band’s “Somewhere Only We Know.”

And because our hearts are frozen, you’ll find Coldplay’s “White Christmas” as well.
