Watch Lana Del Rey as Eve in Steamy ‘Tropico’ Short Film

Lana Del Rey, 'Tropico,' stream, Vevo, short film, 'Ultraviolence'

Lana Del Rey’s Tropico short film has arrived. Directed by Anthony Mandler (Rihanna, Jay Z, Taylor Swift), the nearly half-hour video features the songs “Body Electric,” “Gods and Monsters,” and “Bel Air,” from the singer’s Paradise Edition of last year’s Born to Die. The film officially premiered at 11 a.m. EST on Vevo, which describes it as “an epic tale based on the biblical story of sin and redemption” that “features Del Rey starring as Eve.”

Tropico, which premiered last night at an event in Hollywood, co-stars model Shaun Ross and involves strip-club dancing along with actors playing Marilyn Monroe, Jesus Christ, John Wayne, and Elvis Presley. At the premiere, Del Rey announced the title of her next album, which appears to be Ultraviolence. In a fan video full of enthusiastic screams from the crowd, she can be heard saying, “I really just wanted us all to be together so I could try and visually close out my chapter before I release the new record, Ultraviolence.” We’ll keep you updated with more details as soon as they’re available.

Till then, Tropico is available as a digital EP, featuring “Body Electric,” “Gods & Monsters,” “Bel Air,” and the full 27-minute video. Pick it up at iTunes.
