Lady Gaga’s ‘ARTPOP Ball’ Tour to Roll Out Next Year

Lady Gaga is taking ARTPOP on the road. As MTV points out, the Mother Monster has announced her “artRave: The ARTPOP Ball Tour” will start May 4 at the BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The tour is currently scheduled to run through a July 21 date at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Scroll down for the full list of dates, and for ticket information, visit LittleMonsters.com.

Gaga was previously scheduled to play a four-night stand at New York City’s Roseland Ballroom in March and April 2014, bidding farewell to the soon-to-close venue. She had also hinted that her November “artRAVE” in Brooklyn would become something more, tweeting: “Oh my darling monsters, you will years from now know how important artRave really was. I can’t wait to turn it into a tour.”

While ARTPOP‘s declining sales have been the subject of much media discussion, Gaga the live performer has always been a sure ticket. True, she canceled the bulk of her 2013 dates to undergo hip surgery. But her 2012 “Born This Way Ball” tour took in a reported $124 million, good for sixth place between Coldplay and Kenny Chesney’s joint tour with Tim McGraw (Madonna was No. 1 with $228 million). Her 2011 tour gross of $72 million put her at No. 7 overall, behind Usher but ahead of the Eagles, Katy Perry, and Justin Bieber.

Did we say “ball”? Gaga is also on course to become a doll. A life-size one, at that. As Billboard reports, she appeared at the silicon Gagadoll’s unveiling in Tokyo on December 1. Japanese companies reportedly collaborated with Gaga’s label to design the doll, which is still in a prototype phase and not yet on the retail market. Watch the video below to see how the doll plays Gaga’s music if you put your face against its chest. Here’s an image that Gaga tweeted.
