Legendary Gang Starr founder DJ Premier is the latest remixer to lend his touch to the songs on Disclosure’s Essential album Settle. Below, he reworks “Latch,” which features rising R&Bist Sam Smith and here is made wonderfully minimal. Vocals and piano are at the forefront, catching in little loops along the way while the drum beats on methodically. Primo’s version will land on the forthcoming Settle – The Remixes (U.S.) and Settle Special Edition (U.K.) collections, and is testament to the fact that Disclosure are at the helm of SPIN’s 2013 Trend of the Year.
