Hear the First Taste of Solange’s Collaboration With Dirty Projectors’ David Longstreth

Solange Knowles Dirty Projectors David Longstreth Video

Solange Knowles has been plenty busy getting her exciting new label Saint Records and its accompanying web hub, Saint Heron, off the ground. She’d be forgiven for taking a breather from her hotly anticipated new album, but it turns out she’s got time for that as well. The alt-R&B queen has shared two brief snippets to Instagram of her previously teased collaboration with Dirty Projectors’ David Longstreth.

In the first post, she writes, “Friday…me…and my piano chords….” set to the sound of her wordless cooing and some glassy notes. Minutes later, she followed with the next bit, where a beat kicks in: “And @davidlongstreth nasty nasty drums.” Get a feel for that particular funk below, watch Solange rock a Houston mall, and check out tracks from her forthcoming Saint Heron compilation by Kelela and BC Kingdom. Also, we heard word she’s taken a curatorial interest in Moses Sumney.
