In the clip above, original riot grrrl, leader of the Julie Ruin, and SPIN cover star Kathleen Hanna can be seen discussing her early days with Bikini Kill. The snippet comes from The Punk Singer, a documentary about the Le Tigre founder’s storied music career, which continues unabated in 2013 at the age of 45. The film hits select theaters Friday, November 29, but for now we can see Hanna and friends discussing her penchant for feminist fanzines and adoption of the Valley-girl accent. According to T Magazine, who premiered the preview, the movie will also touch upon Hanna’s battle with late-stage Lyme disease and her relationship with husband, Beastie Boy, and proud minivan owner Adam “Ad-Rock” Horowitz. Guest voices come courtesy of Kim Gordon, Corin Tucker, Carrie Brownstein, Rookie‘s Tavi Gevinson, and others.
