Summer festival season is coming to a close, San Francisco’s Treasure Island Music Festival served as host to the acts that ruled big stages in 2013: Major Lazer, James Blake, Danny Brown, Disclosure, and Haim. It was a fitting final curtain for the year in music, but Treasure Island also slipped in performances that helped establish its own identity. Beck and Animal Collective put up big-tent showcases, Sleigh Bells ripped through Bitter Rivals, and slow-hand rockers Real Estate slow-rocked easy-breezy indie perfect for fall.
