Queens of the Stone Age are planning a creepy interactive party just in time for Halloween and you’re invited. On October 30, the desert rock heavy-hitters will release the official music video for “The Vampyre of Time and Memory,” a menacing slow-burner off of this year’s thrilling comeback LP, …Like Clockwork. In advance of the Mischief Night unveiling, QOTSA have shared a minute-long teaser for the interactive clip, which comes directed by Kii Arens and Jason Trucco and produced in collaboration with The Creators Project.

The preview finds SPIN cover star Josh Homme seated at a leopard print piano in a room filled with taxidermied animals, not unlike Ravenna Woods’ recent video for “Border Animals.” As Consequence of Sound notes, the surging sound effects and freaky looking maid who shows up lend the short an American Horror Story feel. Creators promise the piece will “re-imagine the music video as a virtual art installation distinguished by horror, weird beauty, and a deep vein of surrealism. There have been interactive music videos in the past, but none that so strongly capture a band’s essence.”

Watch the trailer above, read SPIN’s career-spanning interview with Homme, and then check out the band’s 15-minute …Like Clockwork short film featuring visuals designed by U.K. artist Boneface.
