Hope you still have money for more new-old Nirvana records, because the “Super Deluxe” celebration of 1993’s In Utero will continue this fall with yet another vinyl release. As previously reported, the massive reissue of the alt-icons’ third and final album includes a new “2013 mix” of the full-length. According to Rolling Stone, the modern update of In Utero will be available separately as a 45 RPM, 180-gram double-vinyl package on November 29. The occasion: Record Store Day’s annual Back to Black Friday event.

Producer Steve Albini handled the mastering at Abbey Road Studios, with the approval of surviving Nirvana members Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl. In a recent interview with writer, podcaster, and radio personality Vish Khanna, Albini said that Novoselic asked him personally to man the mixing board. “I didn’t deal with the record label at all,” Albini explained, which is probably for the best, considering his low opinion of label executives. “Krist called me and asked if I would do it and I said, ‘Yeah.’ It just boils down to the band wanted to do a new version of the record and I was flattered and happy to help.”

The upcoming vinyl version of the “2013 mix” follows a standard digital/CD remaster, a triple-vinyl LP set, and the aforementioned four-disc configuration that features Nirvana’s Live & Loud concert on DVD.
