Nada Surf main man Matthew Caws and alt-rock lifer Juliana Hatfield have teamed up to form Minor Alps, a folk-informed two-piece with a debut LP due out October 29. The duo have already shared one track from the upcoming Get There LP (the gently looping “Buried Plans”), and now they’ve uncovered a second: “Far From the Roses” weaves the singers’ weary vocals together and lays them over a slippery melody that tumbles into a triumphant chorus. Stream the tune below (via Stereogum), and pre-order Get There through Barsuk Records.
Minor Alps will tour in support of the album, with a string of November dates booked throughout the U.S. Scroll down to find details of the itinerary, which kicks off with a November 8 performance in conjunction with Barsuk’s 15th anniversary music festival.
