‘South Park’ Lampoons Sexed-Up Miley Cyrus Without Mentioning Her Name

South Park has now parodied Miley Cyrus without ever so much as mentioning the Bangerz singer’s name. In its October 30 episode, the irreverent Comedy Central cartoon showed a character from children’s show Yo Gabba Gabba! attempting to prove she’s all grown up by posing for racy magazine covers, swinging on wrecking balls, and, yes, performing on the MTV Video Music Awards. Sinead O’Connor even showed up to help the Yo Gabba Gabba! gang try to convince their pal Foofa not to display her private parts — her “strange,” in the parlance of the episode — in public. No longer a “pink flower bubble,” not yet a woman.

Gotta say, the spoof was a bit late by South Park standards — even keeping in mind a delay earlier in the month due to a studio power outage — and the butt of the jokes was a little more difficult to make out than in some of the show’s more pointed pop-culture satires (free Pussy Riot!). But hey, you get to see South Park regular Ike, a Canadian toddler who for complicated reasons in this episode was going through puberty, sneer: “Screw off, Sinead O’Connor! Nobody gives a crap about you!” Watch that clip from the show above, and check out the full episode — which also included what came across as an equally incoherent mockery of Healthcare.gov — over on South Park‘s website.

As for Cyrus, well, she’s always busy finding other ways to stay trending. The former Hannah Montana dressed up in Lil’ Kim’s 1999 MTV VMA get-up for Halloween and posted photos on Instagram. Cue Sinead: “Nothing compares 2 Kim”?
