Major Lazer Go Mile High for ‘Jet Blue Jet’ Video

Major Lazer 'Jet Blue Jet' Video Free the Universe

Major Lazer’s album-length dancehall-EDM mashup Free the Universe lets slip another visual today, this time for the clattering club-crusher “Jet Blue Jet.” Like most of Diplo’s collaborations under this guise, the track wrangles the talents of a number of collaborators: Kingston chanter Leftside, Miami booty-bassists GTA, and Jamaican DJs Raz and Biggy. Only the first name on that list appears in the Grizz Lee-directed video, however.

Leftside’s wicked grin shows up between gratuitous shots of nearly nude women (unless you count the tattoos) smoking gratuitous amounts of presumably marijuana-packed cigars. Oh, and there’s former Kreayshawn homie Lil Debbie rocking a perm and sitting on what kinda sorta looks to be an Eames interpretation of an airport lavatory. Perhaps that’s just the “Jet Blue Jet” name influencing our train of thought.

Either way, the clip is a little underwhelming following those for “Scare Me” (in which Terry Cruise executes a Workaholics dude) and the absurdist, #seapunk-skewering “Bubble Butt.”
