Tyler, the Creator has long put film (and fashion) on at least equal footing with the rapping that made him famous. “IM TELLING YOU WHEN IM 30 IM ONLY GONNA BE DOING FILM AND SCORING STUFF,” he tweeted in March, and the Odd Future member now may be starting to make good on that threat. Above is the trailer for his new film WOLF, which shares a title with his album released in April.
In the 56-second clip, a cigarette-smoking Tyler directs two boys to beat up another, who turns out also to be Tyler. Other details of the film are still unclear, except that it features “violence, grisly images, language, some nudity, and sexuality.” None of that comes to a surprise to anyone — except maybe Mountain Dew. The trailer says the movie is slated to be released in “201_,” so let’s check back in about six years.
