Hear Krystal Klear’s Hazy House Remix of RAC’s ‘Let Go’

RAC

After helming nearly 200 remixes for artists such as Yeah Yeah Yeahs, U2, and Lana Del Rey, producer/composer RAC is gearing up to release his first original offering. On October 1, the Portland-based musician born Andre Allen Anjos will unleash Don’t Talk To, a four-track EP featuring guest vocalists Penguin Prison and Tokyo Police Club. After that, he’ll hit the road to debut his new live show on a two-week tour of North America in November.

A few weeks ago, he unveiled the first taste from the upcoming record: “Let Go,” a funk-inflected pop tune that boasted dreamy singing by electro-pop artist MNDR and Bloc Party affiliate Kele. Now, he’s dropped a remix of the song by U.K. boogie savant Krystal Klear, who transformed the bubbling beat into a hazy, slow-moving house roller. Krystal Klear erased the original’s summery guitar licks and extended chords, allowing the low-slung bass line to drive the track and buoy the vocalists’ far-away singing.
