Black Sabbath’s Endless Reunion Tour Immortalized on Live DVD ‘Gathered in Their Masses’

black sabbath, live dvd, gathered in their masses

Black Sabbath wrapped their Andrew W.K.-assisted North American tour earlier this month, but the heavy metal legends‘ resurrection continues with the upcoming concert DVD Black Sabbath: Live… Gathered in Their Masses. Due November 26, the disc culls footage filmed during Sabbath‘s April 29 and May 1 performances in Melbourne, Australia.

Those gigs, of course, were some of the first the band played on their recent world tour in support of 13, the first Black Sabbath album to feature Ozzy Osbourne singing lead vocals in 35 years. The LP — which, coincidentally, entered the charts at No. 1 in 13 countries, the U.S. included — reunited Osbourne with guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler. Rick Rubin produced the record and Rage Against the Machine’s Brad Wilk played drums, filling in for original percussionist Bill Ward, who opted out of the reunion.

A set list for Gathered in Their Masses hasn’t been announced yet, but fans can likely expect to find “Methademic” and “Loner,” since both tracks were played Down Under. In the meantime, watch a brief trailer for Gathered in Their Masses above.
