Outside Lands kicks off in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park today, beginning a three-day run (August 9 to 11) of live music, comedy shows, art installations, and more. SPIN has already reported the festival’s stellar lineup (Nine Inch Nails, Paul McCartney, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Phoenix, Kurt Vile and the Violators, and the National are just some of the artists booked), weighed in on the 5 Most Wrenching Set-Time Conflicts, detailed the wealth of official night shows, and highlighted which performances will be streamable via live webcast. But there’s more: SPIN is teaming with Toyota to present exclusive events and programming at the Soundwave Tent.
Throughout the weekend, the Soundwave Tent will host intimate performances by Camper Van Beethoven, Deap Vally, Bombino, Daughter, and Social Studies. Additionally, other members of the SpinMedia family (BrooklynVegan and the Hype Machine) have organized a series of live gigs, interviews, and DJ sets from several artists. Soundwave attendees will have a chance at seeing Foals, Rudimental, MS MR, the Head and the Heart, King Tuff, Atlas Genius, Milo Greene, and more.
