Notorious B.I.G. Petition Asks New York to Name Intersection in His Honor

Notorious B.I.G. Petition Street Name New York Wallace Way

One inspired Brooklyn resident has begun a petition to have a local street corner officially named after the Notorious B.I.G. The intersection of Saint James Place and Fulton Street in the Clinton Hill neighborhood marks the block where the late, great rapper was raised, and citizen LeRoy McCarthy would like the area to bear Biggie’s birth name as “Christopher Wallace Way.”

The petition was launched over at Change.org and so far has broken through its initial reported goal of 500 signatures. As of press time, it was closing in on 700. There are also fledgling Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook accounts devoted to the cause. “During Christopher Wallace time in music he was considered the best at his craft,” McCarthy writes. “[His story] continues to have a resounding influence on new generations although he passed away in 1997.”
