MTV VMA 2013 Winners List: Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, Pink, and More

The 2013 MTV Video Music Awards wrapped at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn Sunday night (August 25) and Justin Timberlake’s “Mirrors” was crowned the Video of the Year. JT was ostensibly the star of the host-less show: Not only did he receive the prestigious Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, but he also delivered a stunning 16-minute performance that featured a brief onstage reunion with ‘N Sync. The 20/20 Experience singer won more awards than any other artist, collecting a total of four Moonmen, including trophies for Best Direction (which went to the David Fincher-helmed “Suit & Tie”) and Best Editing (for “Mirrors”).

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis nabbed three statues — for Best Hip-Hop Video (“Can’t Hold Us”), Best Video With a Social Message (“Same Love”), and Best Cinematography (“Can’t Hold Us”) — while Bruno Mars earned two, for Best Male Video (“Locked Out of Heaven”) and Best Choreography (“Treasure”).

Taylor Swift picked up Best Female Video (“I Knew You Were Trouble”); One Direction’s “Best Song Ever” was decreed the Best Song of the Summer (inexplicably beating out Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” and Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines”); Selena Gomez won Best Pop Video (“Come and Get It”); and Austin Mahone was dubbed the Artist to Watch.

During the red carpet pre-show, Pink and fun.’s Nate Ruess were honored with the Best Collaboration award (“Just Give Me a Reason”), and 30 Seconds to Mars received the Moonman for Best Rock Video (“Up in the Air”).
