Hear Empty Pools’ Chameleonic Post-Rock Beauty ‘Exploded View’

Empty Pools

Empty Pools already have a handful of singles to their name, but the group are ready to make the full-length jump with the November 4 release of their debut album Saturn Reruns. Their opening salvo is “Exploded View,” a five-minute blast that blends the angular riffs of Television and poppier moves of Foo Fighters with the jazzy post-rock of the Sea and Cake. Frontwoman Leah Pritchard and bassist Matt Wilson were found via a classified ad in 2011, but the track’s seamless, chameleonic passages showcase a band that sounds like it’s been jamming together for years.
