Overlooked "Control" rapper performs 'Hall of Fame' tracks "Beware" and "Fire"

Big Sean has shown a remarkable ability to keep his name in the conversation, even if the conversation isn’t about him. The GOOD-signed Detroit rapper releases sophomore album Hall of Fame on August 27, but its guest rapper Kendrick Lamar’s verse on non-album track “Control (HOF)” that has roiled the rap world. When Big Sean performed last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he once again proved willing to cede some limelight to another rapper, wearing a T-shirt honoring late Wu-Tang Clan great Ol’ Dirty Bastard. On Kimmel’s outdoor stage, Big Sean gave animated renditions of slinky single “Beware” — joined by the track’s always-welcome guest singer Jhene Aiko, though not guest rapper Lil Wayne — along with the more verse-oriented showcase “Fire.” Watch “Beware” above, and “Fire” below.
