A$AP Ferg and Danny Brown Go Wild for the Night on ‘Reynolds’

A$AP Ferg Danny Brown Reynolds stream

When we visited A$AP Ferg’s Bronx studio to preview his new album Trap Lord, he was meticulously recording an unnamed track, testing the elasticity of his flow and tinkering with the lyrics to a particular verse. As it turns out, that song was “Reynolds,” a leftover finished in the final few days of those recording sessions. This may very well be the most classically hip-hop cut Ferg has created, and as such, it shows off his underrated writing skills. The gruff-voiced MC kicks off his verse with a short story about an, ahem, wild night partying with A$AP Rocky and Busta Rhymes. He also cracks a few cutting jokes: “Niggas think we stupid with all these designer things / And we walk in Hilfiger office to hear the ch-ching.” Danny Brown slides through later for a typically snapping finale. Trap Lord is in stores tomorrow, but can be streamed now. Brown’s new album Old will reportedly be out in October, but he’s stayed busy in the meantime by releasing a glut of guest verses.
