Watch ‘Aqua Teen Hunger Force’ Go Space-Rap With Flying Lotus

L.A. beat beast and bass god Thundercat deliver 'Aqua TV Show Show' theme

Flying Lotus’ love affair with Cartoon Network continues to pay dividends to fans of gloriously weird music and animation. The Los Angeles-bred beat auteur teamed up with his bass-wielding Brainfeeder bro Thundercat to record the latest theme for Adult Swim’s Aqua Teen Hunger Force, which, as part of a running gag, will be known as Aqua TV Show Show for its tenth season. Episode one aired over the weekend, and the new intro can be seen above. The noirish clip finds Master Shake, Frylock, and the “little homie” Meatwad dressed as jazz-funk beatniks while the music treads a similar path. Lotus, in his Captain Murphy cartoon-rapper guise, provides a quick rhyme to kick off the festivities. While the Until the Quiet Comes producer got an early break when the late-night animation block began using his beats as bumper music, recent history has seen him composing end credits music for Adventure Time and participating in the Adult Swim Singles Series.
