FIDLAR made us blush recently with their ultra-NSFW “Cocaine” video starring Nick Offerman, and now the Los Angeles party punks have dropped a brand new single, “Awkward.” Up for sale September 8 via Wichita Recordings, the drunken anti-anthem is actually a re-recording of an older tune, one that featured vocals from U.K. songstress Kate Nash (via The Line of Best Fit). This just-unveiled version jettisons Nash and deep dives into frontdude Zac Carper’s alcohol-fueled self-loathing. “I’ve got no job, I’ve got no money, got no self-esteem / I’ll take a Xanax every morning for anxiety,” he rattles off over a slacker rock rhythm. “I’ll take a beer and take another / And then I’m going to call her / I’ll probably end up fucking up and making it feel awkward.” Stream the sloppy shout-along track below.
