Watch Deerhunter’s Burning ‘Halcyon Digest’-Era Concert

deerhunter, sunday redux

Deerhunter have a slate of tour dates lined up to promote their abrasive new album, the Essential Monomania, but fans who prefer the ghostly sheen of 2010‘s Halcyon Digest can revisit the band’s previous incarnation via a newly released concert film. Director John Albrecht recently shared Sunday Redux, an hour-and-a-half-long movie that captures Deerhunter’s 2010 performance at the Bourbon Theatre in Lincoln, Nebraska. The gig happened ahead of Halcyon‘s arrival, back when the Atlanta crew’s lineup featured Bradford Cox, Lockett Pundt, Moses Archuleta, and Josh Fauver, who has since left the group. Watch the whole 13-song set — which draws highlights from Halcyon Digest, 2008’s Microcastle/Weird Era. Cont., and 2007’s Cryptograms and Fluorescent Grey EP — above.
