Ty Segall has revealed more details on his upcoming album, Sleeper. Due August 20 via Drag City, the garage rock warrior’s next full-length will feature a total of 10 tracks, sport some blankets on its cover art, and, according to an official announcement, alter the very fabric of the universe.
“Sleeper flows more colors than ever before through your mind’s eye,” the press release reads, “pushing the walls of the universe out just a micron further, making everything heavier and lighter all at once, to allow time to beam infinitely forever.” We’d settle for just a worthy follow-up to 2012’s Essential Twins, but, sure, this sounds pretty cool, too.
The fast-approaching LP will be available in vinyl, cassette, CD, and digital formats. As SPIN already reported, Segall will tour in support of his newest effort, beginning with a Paris gig on July 19 and ending with an appearance at the All Tomorrow’s Parties “End of An Era” showcase in England on December 1. Between those performances, the Fuzz frontman will play two months’ worth of shows in the U.S. More dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
