Firefly Music Festival officially kicks off in Dover, Delaware today (June 21). The three-day extravaganza will feature performances from Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Vampire Weekend, Kendrick Lamar, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Japandroids, MGMT, Ellie Goulding, and many more. SPIN are on the scene, diligently scoping out the talent, writing notes, and taking photos, but we’re also hosting two hours of live programming in the Soundwave tent every day from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in collaboration with Toyota.
Comedian Dave Hill will host the daily showcases, which promise a mix of live music and a little bit of Q&A. A number of artists — including the Spinto Band, Youngblood Hawke, Robert DeLong, and Dragonette — will make appearances, so be sure to stop by if you’re trolling the festival grounds. The Soundwave tent is located next to St. Jude and near the Porch Stage (head here to consult a map of the area).
Firefly Fest 2013 runs until Sunday, June 23 and is being held at the 87-acre Woodlands of Dover International Speedway. Single-day tickets are still available for purchase.
