Lil Wayne Describes His Near-Fatal Seizure on ‘Kimmel’

Lil Wayne Jimmy Kimmel Seizures Health Video

Lil Wayne visited Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday night (june 11) where he sat down for a lengthy chat about his health and eventual retirement plans. It was his first successful appearance in a run of three attempts — the unexplained March 2012 no-show resulted in Kimmel interviewing an audience member instead, and his March 2013 cancellation was due to Weezy’s big health scare. Or, as the host worded it, that time when “everyone thought you were going to die.”

Weezy explained that this seizure-related incident, “Was serious because I was upstairs and my homies were downstairs, and they didn’t even know that I was up there seizing. One of them just was like, he hasn’t come down in a minute.” After Kimmel grilled him about his “homies” (and his homies’ grills), he added, “It’s just a private matter that I’ve been dealing with my whole life. We’re so used to it happening, so my doctors prepped all my homies.”

Which is good news since he’s hoping to retire at the ripe old age of 30-and-change. “I want to retire after Tha Carter V,” Wayne said, noting that he’s still a little ways off from making that one. “I think I have to work on other albums as well with my pop, Birdman, but after Tha Carter V, I hope that I can retire.” Then he kvetched dramatically before explaining that he’d like to do regular stuff, such as drive his own car (okay) and hang with his kids (right on).
