On August 26, 2012, Kanye Wes was born. That’s a long time ago, here in the year of our lord Yeezus and His reality-TV progeny North West. But this earlier offspring — a Tumblr mashup of media involving Kanye West and Wes Anderson — still deserves an appreciative glance. The stylized, over-the-top pronouncements of Anderson’s film characters go all too well with images of the rapper, and vice versa. West’s recent New York Times pronouncement that “I understand culture, I am the nucleus” shows up on Royal Tenenbaums character Eli Cash’s snake-handling Sunday Magazine Section cover. The critters on Fantastic Mr. Fox raise their glasses beneath the West lyric quote, “Let’s have a toast for the douchebags.” Check it out here. Rushmore‘s Max Fischer wrote a hit play!
