Kanye West Plays Daft Punk-Featuring ‘On Site,’ Does ‘New Slaves’ A Cappella

Kanye West 'New Slaves' A Cappella Live Video

In Kanye West’s surprisingly self-effacing (LOL) new interview with the New York Times‘ Jon Caramanica, he admits that he pretty much looks miserable whenever he’s out in public. But in the clip above, Yeezus actually looks like he’s having a good time — smiling, cracking jokes, and visiting with fans as he offers up a couple of treats to the crowd gathered at the Swiss iteration of Art Basel. In the six-minute video, he gives “New Slaves” a powerful a cappella rebirth while much of the crowd sits cross-legged around him. Then he turns to his laptop to play a version of “On Site,” the stuttering electronically powered ;Yeezus opener (if that track list is right), which he recently confirmed features Daft Punk. West’s much anticipated sixth album is due out June 18.
