Kanye West Goes Full ‘American Psycho’ With Latest ‘Yeezus’ Projection

Kanye West premiered a new clip for his soon-to-be-released (but recently leaked) Yeezus album in Los Angeles last night (June 14). The two-minute video, which was projected on the side of a recording studio where West was holding yet another LP listening party, stars Kim Kardashian’s best friend, Jonathan Cheban, and Kourtney Kardashian’s babydaddy Scott Disick, and was inspired by the 2000 film adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ 1991 novel American Psycho

The scene West’s paying homage to originally features actors Christian Bale and Jared Leto. Bale’s character, Patrick Bateman, drones on about the brilliance of Huey Lewis and the News right before he murders Leto’s character with an ax. Kanye’s recut casts Disick as Bateman and Cheban in Leto’s part, and replaces the Huey Lewis shout outs with references to West and Yeezus (via Idolator). It’s tough to make out the dialogue in the above short, so for context, watch the American Psycho version below.
