Black Sabbath and Andrew W.K. Set to Blaze Across America

Well this should be fun: Black Sabbath has selected Andrew W.K. to open up their forthcoming U.S. tour, which will last from the end of July through the beginning of September. Sabbath will be supporting their new album 13, while Andrew W.K. will be supporting his life as Andrew W.K. In a statement, the partying connoisseur said being asked to tour with Sabbath has overwhelmed him:

“I’m just shocked. It’s just the most incredible dream come true! This is the greatest honor I could be given. I remember when the phone rang and I first heard that Black Sabbath wanted me to be their exclusive opening act. I was really in a state of disbelief – almost sick with amazement and excitement. It took about 3 days until I fully mastered the reality of this opportunity and realized it was really going to happen. Black Sabbath’s music changed my life from the first time I heard it, and this tour will change my life all over again. I couldn’t be more thankful or humbled by this one-in-a-billion miracle. Can this really be real!? What kind of adventure will this be!?”

It’s been a year of dreams come true for W.K., who still has a number of 2013 dates playing on Marky Ramone’s Blitzkrieg. He also drummed for 24 straight hours, which we imagine was a dream even if he never stated as much. Dates for the Sabbath tour are below:
