Majical Cloudz don’t come off as shy — the Montreal duo’s somber ballads greet tragedy with striking clarity — but lead singer Devon Welsh sounds shaky and unsure of himself in the latest episode of La Blogothèque’s “Take Away Show” series. In the above clip, Welsh nervously delivers an a cappella rendition of “What That Was,” a track featured on last year’s Turns Turns Turns EP, while riding the métro in France. His vocals steady as the train speeds up, just before the video cuts to a piano-side performance of Impersonator single “Bugs Don’t Buzz.” His eyes wide open, Welsh’s voice flourishes and withers at the bar where the performance ends.
