Watch the Trailer for the Stone Roses Documentary, Because That’s All You’re Gonna Get

The Stone Roses have never inspired the same level of devotion and enthusiasm in the U.S. as they do in the U.K. — the embarrassingly thin crowd at the Manchester band’s Coachella gig this past weekend should be proof enough — which probably explains why the upcoming documentary The Stone Roses: Made of Stone doesn’t have a stateside release date. Directed by British filmmaker Shane Meadows, Made of Stone follows the Mancs’ entire career, from their 1983 founding to the 1989 release of their landmark debut album, from the group’s mid-’90s implosion to their long-awaited 2012 reunion. The feature promises “never-before-seen” footage of the Manchester unit, but fans can get a preview of the film via the just-released trailer. “It takes time for people to fall in love with you,” frontman Ian Brown says near the clip’s end. “But it’s inevitable.”

Made of Stone will premiere in Manchester on May 30; the Stone Roses will attend the event, which will be followed by a Q&A with Meadows. According to the NME, tickets go on sale on April 17 at 9:30 a.m. The film will be simulcast to 100 cinemas nationwide during the May 30 screening, and it will open across the U.K. on June 5.
